RGD provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and information communication technology systems engineering services for the Grand Hyatt Renovations in Tampa, Florida. The renovation project included conversion of a 14th floor roof level restaurant into a ballroom which can also be used as a conference center. Also included in the scope of work are executive suites, the addition of 12th floor meeting and conference space administrative support renovations, and pool bar up grades.
Engineering challenges included the addition of multi zone, variable air volume HVAC system for the new 12th floor meeting spaces, single zone variable volume air handling system for the ball room HVAC, tie into and modifications existing chilled water systems. Extensive programmable lighting systems were implemented throughout the project utilizing LED luminaire technology. New voice/data, CCTV systems were interfaced with existing systems for the newly renovated space offering the latest in technology and maximum flexibility. The MEP/ICT systems were designed such that there were no interruptions to the existing hotel operations during construction.
