Renovation of existing KMart building into a tuition free public charter school. The school educates students in grades K-8. RGD was the MEP sub-consultant to the Architect, Harvard Jolly.
RGD’s team did extensive discovery of existing systems prior to starting design. This assessment included an evaluation of the existing HVAC system and a study to determine the most cost effective system. As it was important that the classrooms had individual temperature the team opted to design around a VAV system.
The project was completed on time and on budget prior to the start of the 2014 – 2015 school year.
