RGD Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low voltage engineering for UCF Legacy Point CRCC, the project consists of a campus of 7 main buildings totaling 430,000 SF which together represent one Continuing Care Retirement Community (CRCC). It is located adjacent to the University of Central Florida’s main campus which it is in partnership with and which serves as an educational, and entertainment resource. The CRCC campus includes a Skilled Nursing/Memory Care Building, an Assisted Living Facility, an Independent Living Facility, a Commons Building, a Clinic Building, Central Support Building and a two-level parking structure. The Skilled Nursing/Memory Care, the Health Clinic and the Central Support building were designed to standards reviewed and approved by AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration). The Central Support Building includes a banquet kitchen that serves the entire campus, central laundry services, maintenance and building engineering, shipping and receiving and administrative support functions. The commons building services as the main hub of social life with multiple dining venues, a game hall, classrooms, beauty shop, arts and crafts spaces, and a multipurpose room for large gatherings and events. Technical aspects include VRF (variable refrigerant flow) HVAC systems for the Skilled Nursing, and the Assisted Living Facilities, Roof Top VAV systems for the Commons buildings and kitchen ventilation systems and design of MEP support systems for the commercial laundry. The Skilled Nursing/Memory Care, the Health Clinic and the Central Support are all served by emergency power for 100% back of the buildings. Low voltage systems include voice/data, access control (egress and ingress) CCTV, CATV and Nurse Call systems.
