SeaWorld San Antonio unleashed one of the most anticipated new coasters in 2020 and the only wooden coaster to open in North America this year. They say that everything is bigger in Texas, and now Texas Stingray can boast it is the tallest, fastest and longest wooden coaster in the state of Texas.
The project is located at the Sea World San Antonio in Texas. The scope of work involved a hybrid coaster that was manufactured off site and installed in a modular fashion. In addition to the coaster the site encompasses a photo booth, utility shed, maintenance building and passenger loading area. Electrical engineering was required for the site lighting and power to the coaster. Coordination of power, lighting, low voltage and pneumatics was also required. RGD coordinated the electrical design with the existing site and with the coaster manufacturer to ensure the design met specifications.
